Rangos Student Garners CAPCSD 2012 Leadership Scholarship, Attends Conference

    May. 22, 2012

Megan Murray, speech-language pathology major at Duquesne University, attended the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders’ (CAPCSD) recent annual conference after being awarded a prestigious 2012 Leadership Scholarship from the organization.

Murray, who will graduate from the Rangos School of Health Sciences in August, is one of only three master’s degree students selected for the award, which included a $2,000 cash award.

“Receiving this scholarship was a great honor and amazing experience,” said Murray. “It has allowed me to help continue my education, while inspiring me to further develop and lead my field in the future.”

Murray attended the conference from April 18-21 in Newport Beach, Calif.

“Attending the conference gave me insight into current issues in communication sciences and disorders, and a chance to interact with valued professionals in the field—an opportunity that most other students do not get,” Murray said. “It helped me see ways to apply the information and skills I have learned from Duquesne, both within my program and at the University as a whole, throughout my career.”

Murry is a native of Bear, Del.
