EcoMundo, an agency based in France, will present a comprehensive workshop for U.S. manufacturers and their supply chains to share with businesses the ins and outs of environmental labeling requirements of the European Union.
Strategies for REACH Compliance: Overview, Update and Compliance details the critical aspects of the European Union’s rules for labeling products that enter member countries. EcoMundo’s chemical and environmental experts will explain the rules to American manufacturers and exporters, said Dr. Mary McKinney, director of the Duquesne University Small Business Development Center (SBDC), which is co-sponsoring the REACH rule conference.
By better understanding the regulations, McKinney said, local manufacturers and exporters of a wide range of products such as paint and toners, varnishes, cosmetics, plastics, electronics, pharmaceuticals, automotive components, chemical substances, coatings, packaging materials, ink, apparel, adhesives and machinery potentially could improve their shares of the European markets.
Speakers will include Olivier Le Curieux-Belfond, a REACH compliance expert with EcoMundo; Steven Murray, international trade specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce; and representatives of Duquesne’s Center for International Regulatory Assistance and the Society of Chemicals Manufacturers & Affiliates.
When: Thursday, March 22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Duquesne University’s Rockwell Hall, Room 505
Cost: $75, includes lunch
