Duquesne’s Human Rights Film Series Presents ‘Blue Gold’

    Feb. 2, 2012

The fifth annual Human Rights Film Series at Duquesne University presents a free screening of Blue Gold: World Water Wars on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. in Room 105 of College Hall.

Directed by Sam Bozzo, Blue Gold is a documentary about the global water crisis that shows examples of people fighting for their fundamental human right to water, from court cases to violent revolutions to U.N. conventions to revised constitutions to local protests at grade schools. This is the fourth of six films being screened for the Human Rights Film Series.

Following the film, Katie Baucco, director of operations at Amizade Global Service-Learning, will lead a discussion about global access to clean water.
The Human Rights Film Series, which is free and open to the public, is presented by Duquesne’s Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. For more information, call 412.396.6415.
