Duquesne Team Presents on Value of Alumni Survey at Middle States Conference

    Jan. 4, 2012

A Duquesne University team recently gave a presentation on the value of alumni surveys at the Middle States Commission on Higher Education Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Alexandra Gregory, associate provost and associate academic vice president; Dr. Tammy L. Hughes, Fr. Martin A. Hehir Endowed Chair for Scholarly Excellence and professor and chair, Department of Counseling, Psychology and Special Education; and David A. Nolfi, MLS, AHIP, health sciences librarian and library assessment chair, presented Using Alumni Surveys as a Practical Solution to Building a Culture of Assessment and Quality Improvement.

Their Dec. 13 talk discussed the process of planning and piloting Duquesne’s alumni survey for recent graduates, which will be released this spring. The survey included questions about the core curriculum, academic programs, advisement, student life, alumni affairs, and University mission and identity.

More than 1,300 conference attendees included faculty and administrators from colleges and universities in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education Schools accredits degree-granting colleges and universities in this region.
