Duquesne Leads American Environmental and Energy Professionals on Ghana Trip

Dean Dorothy Bassett of Duquesne’s School of Leadership and Professional Advancement (SLPA) and Dr. Stanley J. Kabala, associate director of the University’s Center for Environmental Research and Education, will lead 20 American environmental and energy professionals and some graduate students to Ghana during July—and will make gifts of drinking water-purifying pots, like the ones made by their Ghanaian counterparts when they were in Pittsburgh last year, to African communities. PA Dept. of Education Funds Law Academic Excellence Program Again

The Duquesne University School of Law has received $85,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for a second consecutive year to fund the school’s Academic Excellence Program. The program was launched during the 2010-11 academic year by the law school to provide one-on-one support to its new students who do not attain the anticipated high level of achievement after their first year.

Free Conference Helps Preschool/Early Childhood Educators Incorporate Music Into the Classroom

Endowed Fund at Duquesne Law School Honors Murrays, Promotes Scholarship

The School of Law will be the recipient of a newly established $1.2 million endowment fund, thanks to Chancellor and Professor of Law John E. Murray Jr. Murray designated the funding, which originated from a grant the Richard King Mellon Foundation made in 2001 in honor of his service to the university and community, to leave an important legacy during the School’s centennial year. The Dr. John and Liz Murray Endowed Fund for Scholarly Development will enhance the scholarly environment and culture in Duquesne’s School of Law.
