The Renaissance City Wind Music Society will honor the late Dr. Sally Stone Worsing, founding director of Duquesne University’s City Music Center, with their performance of A Night at the Opera.
Both concerts, featuring internationally renowned bass-baritone Eugene Perry, will include performances of Mozart’s Overture to the Magic Flute; two arias from Don Giovanni; and Pügesange, among others.
Worsing died on Nov. 26 at age 70. She was a classically trained pianist who was devoted to music education. In 1989, she developed the City Music Center, which enabled more than 1,500 children and adults to study music. In addition, her fundraising efforts helped to provide disadvantaged students with scholarships to the center.
