    Daylong Workshop Focuses on How Technology-Based Businesses Can Win Grants to Grow

    A workshop for research and innovation based businesses will be hosted by Duquesne University’s Small Business Development Center. Nationally recognized speaker John Davis, who has assisted over 100 businesses win Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant awards, will conduct the seminar.

    Technology-based companies, small- to medium-sized manufacturing businesses, researchers, and faculty seeking funding for research and development are encouraged to attend. These funding sources provide an excellent opportunity to win a grant to jumpstart business growth.

    The workshop focuses on SBIR and Small Business Technology Transfer, government research and development programs that offer over $2 billion a year to technology-based companies for commercializing technological innovations.

    Participants will learn how to develop effective proposals, how to best target agencies and topic opportunities, and receive entrepreneurial advice.

    When: Friday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
