Renowned Duquesne Tamburitzans Schedule February Auditions

    Dec. 15, 2010

The Duquesne University Tamburitzans, a dance and music troupe that keeps alive the musical folk traditions of Eastern Europe and its neighbors, is planning to fill vacancies through its annual auditions.

Experience in folk arts performance is desirable but not required. Performers with ballet, tap, jazz, band, orchestra, chorus or musical theater experience may have the skills required to qualify for a substantial scholarship and a position in this unique, award-winning ensemble.

Established in 1937, the Tamburitzans are the longest-running university-based performing ensemble in the U.S. The group travels extensively throughout the country from August through June, presenting an average of 80 shows.

When: Auditions will be Wednesday, Feb. 2, and Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011

Where: Tamburitzans Administration Building, 1801 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh

Information: To schedule an audition or for more information, contact the Tamburitzans at 412.396.5185 or email tamburitzans@duq.edu
