White Coat Ceremony Marks Professional Phase for DU Pharmacy Students

More than 200 students from Duquesne University’s Mylan School of Pharmacy will mark their entrance into their first year of professional study as pharmacists at the school’s annual White Coat Ceremony.
The students, who have completed two years of pre-professional undergraduate studies, will observe the start of four years of professional study at the ceremony by reciting a pledge of professionalism and receiving white coats that they will wear during their laboratory work and experiential education.
Thomas Menighan, executive vice president and chief executive officer of the American Pharmacists Association, will deliver the keynote address at the ceremony. He is a past president of SynTegra Solutions Inc., founded SymRx Inc., and developed CornerDrugstore.com.
When: Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m.
Where: Union Ballroom, Duquesne University, 600 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh.
