Student Receives Award in Research Symposium

Marcus Banks, a Duquesne University sophomore from York, Pa., tied for second place in The Consortium for Research on Islamic Studies’ annual undergraduate research symposium.
Banks, a sociology major, was recognized in the Culture and Society category of the contest for the project Ibn Sina’s Love.
Students from Duquesne and six other universities in western Pennsylvania participated.
The Consortium for Research on Islamic Studies works with educational institutions in western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and West Virginia.
