    Stock Conducts Contemporary Ensemble in Grand Finale

    Professor David Stock, Duquesne University’s composer-in-residence in the Mary Pappert School of Music, will give his final performance with the Duquesne Contemporary Ensemble at the concert Grand Finale.

    Four premieres will celebrate this special occasion, which will feature works by Reza Vali, Randy Woolf, David Cutler and Stock himself. Stock also serves as director of the Duquesne Contemporary Ensemble.

    During his illustrious career, Stock’s has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, five National Endowment for the Arts fellowships, five Pennsylvania Council on the Arts fellowships and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Creative Achievement Award. Additionally, he is former composer-in-residence for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. A guest conductor throughout United States, Australia, Mexico and Poland, Stock’s compositions have been performed in the United States, Europe, Mexico, Australia and Korea.

    It will be on Thursday, April 16, at 8 p.m. in PNC Recital Hall, Mary Pappert School of Music, Duquesne University, 600 Forbes Ave.
