Dr. John F. Stolz was recently recognized with his second Duquesne University Presidential Award for Excellence in Scholarship. He also received the award in 1996.
A professor of biological sciences in the Bayer School of Natural and Environmenal Sciences, Stolz was recently presented with the award by Duquesne President Charles J. Dougherty at the University’s annual Convocation.
Stolz, a resident of Shaler, conducts research in the area of microbial ecology and environmental microbiology, and holds four active grants amounting to $700,000. His work has been published in numerous journals, including Nature and Science.
