Pleasant Hills Resident Recognized with Presidential Award for Excellence

Dr. Jeffry Madura was recently recognized with a Duquesne University Presidential Award for Excellence in Scholarship.
Chair and professor of chemistry and biochemistry in Duquesne’s Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, Madura was acknowledged for his award by Duquesne President Charles J. Dougherty at the University’s annual Convocation on Sept. 7.
Madura, who has been at Duquesne since 1998, specializes in computational chemistry and biophysics. He is co-founder of the University’s Center for Computational Sciences, has authored numerous articles and book chapters, and has lectured extensively. Madura was recently recruited to co-author the latest edition of one of the leading chemistry textbooks in Canada. He has served as an investigator on grant proposals totaling more than $3 million.
He resides in Pleasant Hills with his wife.
