    Community Drum Circle Offers a Unique Approach to Personal Health

    Brahms on the Bluff Continues with ‘The Voice of the Violin’

    The second season of Brahms on the Bluff continues with The Voice of the Violin, a concert featuring three lyrical and intense violin-piano duo sonatas that have taken their place as the indisputable classics of the genre. The Four Piano Pieces op. 119, Brahms’s final works for piano, will be performed by David Allen Wehr, the Jack W. Geltz Distinguished Piano Chair in the Mary Pappert School of Music, and violinist Rachel Stegeman, adjunct professor of violin at Duquesne.

    Guechev’s Songs and Dances of Death Pairs Two Pieces for the First Time.

    The two works that Guenko Guechev selected for his new solo CD, Songs and Dances of Death, are both ruminations on the subject of mortality.  Recorded at Duquesne University’s PNC Recital Hall, the work features Guechev’s interpretations of Modest Mussorgsky’sSongs and Dances of Death, and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Suite on Poems of Michelangelo Buonarroti, Op. 145.
