The second season of Brahms on the Bluff, the Mary Pappert School of Music’s historic three-year concert series of the complete chamber music of Johannes Brahms, begins with Sextet in the City, a rare performance of the composer’s two string sextets.

Brahms on the Bluff features David Allen Wehr, holder of the new Jack W. Geltz Distinguished Piano Chair in the Mary Pappert School of Music, and guest artists. Guests for Sextet in the City are violists Donald McInnes, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and Richard O’Neill, holder of USC’s Primrose Chair; cellists Anne Martindale Williams, PSO principal cellist, and David Premo, PSO associate principal cellist; and violinists and Duquesne faculty members Rachael Stegeman and Charles Stegeman.

When: Sunday, Sept. 24, at 3 p.m. An informative talk at 2:15 p.m. precedes the performance, and a complimentary public reception follows. Suggested donation is $10.

Where: PNC Recital Hall in the Mary Pappert School of Music on the Duquesne University campus.
