    Duquesne to Host Free European Film Festival

    The Duquesne University Department of Modern Languages and Literatures will host its second annual European Film Festival, bringing award-winning films to Pittsburgh.

    Free and open to the public, each of the films listed below will be screened at 7 p.m. in Room 104, College Hall on campus:

    Real Women Have Curves, Thursday, Sept. 14
    A Hispanic comedy/drama about an 18-year-old girl who wants to break free of the bonds of her traditional cultural heritage and her obsessive mother.

    Cinema Paradiso, Thursday, Oct. 12
    An Italian film offering a heartwarming, nostalgic look at one man’s love affair with film and the story of a very special friendship.

    Les Choristes (The Chorus), Thursday, Nov. 9
    Nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe and French Cesars awards, this French, feel-good movie is about the difference one teacher can make.

    Nirgendwo in Afrika (Nowhere in Africa), Thursday, Dec. 7
    A German film about a Jewish family who flees the Nazi regime in 1938 for a remote farm in Kenya, presenting a love story that spans two continents.
