    Renowned Scholar/Author to Address Pope John Paul and the Jewish People

    WHAT: Rabbi David G. Dalin, a renowned scholar and author of several books on Jewish history, will present Understanding the Relationship between Pope John Paul II and the Jewish People.  Held in conjunction with the historic exhibit A Blessing to One Another: Pope John Paul II & The Jewish People, Dalin’s lecture is free and open to the public.A professor of history and political science at Ave Maria University, Dalin is widely published in the areas of American Judaism and the history of Christian-Jewish relations.  He has written numerous books, including The Myth of Hitler’s Pope: How Pope Pius XII Rescued Jews from the Nazis, Religion and State in the American Jewish Experience and The Presidents of the United States and the Jews.

    Guests at the Dalin lecture are invited to tour A Blessing to One Another in Mellon Hall before and after the event. The interactive exhibit includes photos, video footage, documents and artifacts recording the groundbreaking contributions of Pope John Paul II to advance relations between the Catholic and Jewish faiths.
