New Human Resources Director Appointed

Mary Ellen Baney has been appointed director of human resource management at Duquesne University. She replaces Richard Williamson, who retires June 1, 2006 after serving nearly 20 years as director.Baney, who will report directly to the vice president of management and business, will have the primary responsibilities of directing employee recruitment, wage and salary administration, position classification, benefits administration, employee relations, labor relations and student employment.
Baney has served as associate director of Duquesne’s human resources management since 1987. She is completing a master’s degree in leadership and liberal studies. She holds a bachelor of science in education from Penn State University and has completed courses in personnel and industrial relations at the University of Pittsburgh. Baney is also an active volunteer for the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society.
Baney resides in Upper St. Clair.
