WHAT: U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan will present the keynote address Friend or Foe? Upholding the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Program at the Duquesne University Ethics Luncheon Forum.
Buchanan’s talk will focus on the ethical dilemmas faced by those responsible for ensuring that their organizations adhere to laws and uphold ethical standards. She will discuss the status of “whistleblowers” who report illegal activities and will address the organizational tensions that arise when the financial cost of being faithful to the law is perceived to be higher than the fines levied against those who are non-compliant.
The lunch is presented by the Duquesne University Beard Center for Leadership in Ethics, and is sponsored by Babcock Lumber company and Thorp Reed & Armstrong.
