School of Education Joins Elite Group of Research Institutions

    Jan. 9, 2006

The School of Education at Duquesne University has been accepted into the Council of Academic Deans From Research Education Institutions (CADREI), an elite group of American universities with top-ranked schools or colleges of education.

Each of the 82 member universities of CADREI has a strong academic infrastructure in the field of educational research, including factors related to faculty credentials and achievements (such as academic reputation and publications), along with a lineup of degree programs and curricula that nurture fluency in educational research among graduate and undergraduate students.

Duquesne University shares company with other CADREI members, including the schools of education at Harvard, Stanford and UCLA.

“CADREI is an excellent group to be included in,” said Dr. James Schreiber, assistant professor in the School of Education. “If you look at the schools that are in CADREI, and at the top rankings in U.S. News & World Report, you see that the premier graduate schools of education are on both lists.”
